“An Unceasing Prayer Movement” 1st Thessalonians 5:17
I am so excited about the Doors of Opportunity that the Lord is opening in ’24 for us. One of those doors is an opportunity to pray without ceasing. There is an unceasing prayer movement going on in our nation. 25 cities are being covered in prayer 24/7. It began in Austin Texas 15 years ago. They now have over 100 churches covering the city in prayer day and night, 365 days a year. It has completely changed the city. Prayer is like a fire. It ignites everything it touches and continues spreading. Revival and spiritual awakening have come as a result of passionate, fervent, desperate, unceasing prayer. The days of “business as usual” for the church are gone. It’s time to pray as the early Church prayed in Acts 4:31. Jesus said “”My House shall be called a House of Prayer.” Jesus said, “Men ought always to pray and not lose heart.” Paul said “Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication let your requests be made known unto God.” Prayer is the New Testament model for ministry. Jesus, the Apostles and the early Church are our role models for prayer. As a matter of fact the Church was born in a prayer meeting.
We live in a post-Christian nation. You can use any measuring stick you want to use and you come to the conclusion that our nation has lost its way. Desperate, fervent, unceasing prayer is the way back to God. 2nd Mile Church is going to do our best to pray 24 hours every 4th Monday of the month. Instead of allotting 24 slots of an hour each, we are going to break it up in 48 slots of 30 minutes each. We will have prayer guides for everyone along with Scripture that you can read and pray back to God. Can you imagine what would happen if we had 31 churches covering our City in prayer every day? HOLY GHOST!!! We will have a seven point prayer focus which will unite us in prayer.

Pray for unbelievers to be saved. Acts 26:18; 2nd Peter 3:9. Pray that people would repent of their sin and confess Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Pray for a national spiritual awakening. 2nd Chronicles 7:14; Acts 2:37-41. Pray that Jesus would revive His Church and awaken our nation to His greatness and supremacy. Pray that God would pour out His Spirit on America and that millions would come under conviction of the Holy Spirit, repent of their sins and turn to Christ with all of their hearts.

Pray for unity among the Pastors and Churches. John 17:20-23; Psalm 133:1; Ephesians 4:3-6. Pray that denominational lines and ethnic walls will come down so that pastors will love each other, pray together and serve each other.
Pray for families. Joshua 24:15; Malachi 4:6; Ephesians 6:1-4. Pray for Jesus to heal, restore, and strengthen marriages and families. Pray that husbands will love their wives as Christ loves the Church and that wives will respect and be submissive as the Church respects and submits to Christ. Pray that children would respect and obey their parents. Pray that parents would raise their children in a Christ honoring home.

Pray for racial reconciliation. Romans 10:12-13; Galatians 3:28; James 2:9. Pray that God would heal our nation of racism and that He will use the Church to stand against racial prejudice, violence and conflict. Pray that God would help us to understand there is only one race, the human race.

Pray for the sanctity and value of every life. Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5. Pray for God to break the culture of death in America and restore a culture of life.

Pray for Local, State and National Government Leaders. 1st Timothy 2:1-2; Romans 13:1; 1st Peter 2:1-2. Pray that God will give our leaders wisdom to make wise decisions and to govern with integrity, justice and mercy.
